The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) Summer Reading Program Theme for 2019 is Space with the Slogan called A Universe of Stories. Besides the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing on July 20th, there are many incredible astronomical events taking place this year, so now is the time to invite an expert award-winning astronomer and NASA Consultant to deliver an unforgettable program for your patrons.
The Star Tour consistently receives rave reviews and often breaks all-time attendance records coast to coast. Astronomy for Everyone: Size & Scale of the Universe (The 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing Edition) is an exciting family program (adult oriented) for ages 8 to 100+ about the universe from the very small to the very large that lasts approximately 1 ½ hours. It's a virtual journey through the entire universe! Following this indoor formal presentation, we all go outdoors to view celestial objects in the night sky through a powerful hand-crafted telescope, such as the ice crystal rings of Saturn, craters on the Moon, etc., weather permitting. If it is a daytime program then a solar filter (same one NASA uses) is used to view sunspots on the sun. January 1, 2019 marked the 10th anniversary of our Star Tour across America with Look Up to the Stars. Won't you join us in celebrating this milestone by booking an exciting and memorable astronomy program this year, and don't be left out in the cold of space. :)
